She stood there grasping his hand in hers. The doctor had said that he wouldn't live past the night and she was scared of losing the one person that had always been by her side and had never hurt her. Tears started to fall from her eyes as the pain welled up inside. I don't want you to die, she thought. She looked down at his weak yet fighting body as he uttered the words that she hated to hear.
He opened his mouth and spoke. "I think I'm on my way out." The tears started to fall faster and harder than ever before. He wanted to die and she could do nothing to save him.
Her mother walked back into the room and placed her arms around her. This was the first time in months that she had felt the warmth of her mother's embrace. This is when you decide to hold me and tell me that everything will be okay. Well it's not, god dammit, it's not.
"Are you done? Do you want to leave?" Her mother said in her ear.
"Yes" She replies weakly. As she walked outside to the car she saw her friend sitting in her truck waiting for her father. Her father was the hospital's janitor. Well, one of them at least. She walked over to the truck hoping the comfort of her friend could calm her. As she told her what the doctor said the tears came again even harder this time. Fuck! Why does life have to do this to me?
When the tears finally stopped she walked away from the truck and got back in the car with her mother. They went over to her uncles house and told him the horrible news. For the first time in her life she saw him cry. The tears returned yet again to her eyes. Him and her stood there holding her each other and in that one hug she felt more emotion from him than she had from her mother.
(this isn't finished yet)
